The Ego Centre!

As is typical with these sorts of sites, there has to be a biography of the webmaster. So, here it is...

My name is Ross Harper and I live in North Wales, UK. I am currently in my first year of my A-Levels in Physic and Maths, and hope to do Physics in university. This prospect is getting very hazy at the moment, as it looks like I'll be resitting the year.

So, if you've looked at my other pages, you'll probably guess that I'm a big sci-fi fan. This kind of led into an interest in 'real life' science, but at what point this happened, I'm not sure.

I enjoy programming BASIC, and have recently begun to learn C++. Most of the "teach yourself" books are insulting: "Complete Idiot's Guide to..." and "...for Dummies". I opted for the "Complete Idiot's Guide to C++". Kinda puts me in my place...

At the moment, I'm trying not to 'float' where I should 'int' and mind where my semi-colons are.

The 6th form experience has been...interesting. Fancy dress fun runs (see The Zax Bypass Photo Scrapbook, Youth Enterprise Schemes, strange common room antics, and of course, the A-Levels.

I enjoy Physics, but for the maths involved. We've been spending some time on an Engineering Project (courtesy of the EEW), which gave us valuable insight into engineering, taught us responsibility, and let us have crazy parties at the three day accomodated stay in Bangor.

The project was pretty groovy and seven of us Physics students spent six months working with an engineer from British Aerospace trying to solve a problem that the guys and gals at BAe had come across during the manufacture of wing skins at their plant in Broughton.

It's my intention to put the A-Level work that we're doing up on this site. I'll do the Physics modules we've got but a lot of the Maths is kinda abstract, so I doubt that'll go up.

On the internet, me and a group of friends (local friends and some known through the 'net) have set up a website, The Zax Bypass. There's contributions from a few of us. Please check it out! Chances are, you already did to get to this site.
